Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo at the age of 32

25 June 2019

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated the world of football as they have been an interesting topic of discussion over the last decade. The Argentine has achieved more than Ronaldo had when the Portuguese was 32.

The Barcelona ace celebrated his 32nd birthday on Monday and with the Juventus star turning 34 in February, it’s well worth reminding yourself to enjoy these two football legends until they decide to retire.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who turned 32 on February 5, 2017, had played a total number of 802 matches and netting on 568 occasions, whereas Lionel Messi has played 820 games in total till date contributing with 671 goals for both club and country.

Barcelona’s captain has also edged out Cristiano Ronaldo with 34 trophies to his name, winning 4 Champions League titles, 5 Ballon d'Ors, while the Juventus forward had won the Champions League 3 times, 22 trophies to his name, and 4 Ballon d'Ors at the same age.

However, it's worth emphasising that the Portuguese star has improved his record in the last years with both Real Madrid and Juventus, adding both important titles as well as one Ballon d'Or to his name and Most Valuable Player award in Serie A. Ronaldo has also claimed the UEFA Nations League title with his Portuguese squad earlier in June.
