The championship of the Netherlands on football (Eredivisie) has been held from the season of 1895-96. In 1956, the league was founded in the current format, and before that the tournament had been held among amateur teams.
The glorious times of Dutch club football are in the distant past. FC Ajax in the 70’s won the European Cup three times in a row, one more time the team was able to win in 1995, and in 1996 it reached the final. Since then, the Dutch football has been in decline, and football clubs in Holland are perceived as donors for the clubs of the largest national championships.
In the UEFA coefficient ranking, Eredivisie dropped to 10th place, not only ahead the top five of the big tournaments, but also the Portuguese, Russian, Belgian and Ukrainian championships. However, the lowering of the level of football does not affect the popularity of the league. Its matches are still being watched on different continents, and fans of Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV can be found in any country in the world.
The Dutch Championship is quite promising for betting. Such bets as "total more than 2.5" and "both score" are placed without any problems, so you can arm yourself with the right strategy and try to get a profit from Erdivisie.
