Villarreal makes official the signing of Mexican defender Layun

Miguel Layun signs for the next three seasons and becomes the sixth player in Mexico to defend the Villarreal yellow shirt.

Villarreal has made the signing of Miguel Layún official. The Mexican is committed for the next three seasons with the Yellow Submarine. The defender, who has represented his country in the World Cup in Russia, will be presented in the coming days after the agreement reached with Porto.

Miguel Layun, as he remembers the official website of Villarreal, will become the sixth Mexican footballer to wear the Villarreal jersey in all its history. The first to do so was Antonio De Nigris in the 2002/2003 season. From there, they defended the interests of the Yellow Submarine Guille Franco, Javier Aquino, Giovani dos Santos and Jonathan dos Santos.

Miguel Arturo Layún Prado (25-06-1988, Córdoba, Mexico) is a right-back who was trained in the lower categories of the Red Sharks of Veracruz, Layún has played in clubs such as Atalanta, Club América, Watford FC, FC Porto and Sevilla FC.
