Dani Alves wins 40th trophy after Copa America triumph

Brazil won the Copa America for the first time since 2007 by beating Peru on home soil thanks to goals from Everton, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison.

The Selecao ended their 12-year wait for a Copa America crown as the 36-year-old Alves led his side to a 3-1 victory over Peru at the Maracana Stadium.

Sunday night was a particularly special night for Dani Alves as Brazil’s captain became the first footballer in history to win 40 trophies in his career. The former Barcelona star was also named the best player of the tournament.

The Brazilian has his hands full of trophies, which include two Copa America titles along with trophies for Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
