Anthony Martial’s penalty helps Manchester United claim away win

25 October 2019

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United ended their 11-match winless run away from home in all competitions as The Red Devils beat Partizan Belgrade 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Manchester United claimed their first away win since they defeated Paris Saint-Germain in last season's Champions League Round of 16, second leg back in March.

French striker Anthony Martial, who was making his first start since a thigh injury in August, scored from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute to help the Premier League club finally end their 232-day winless away run with 1-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade.

Martial’s penalty before half-time was enough to earn Manchester United all three points and also end their four-game winless streak. The Frenchman took Solskjaer's side to the top of Group L with seven points from three games.

What’s next?

Next up for Man Utd is a trip to Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday, before facing Chelsea in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
