What ExtraTips predictions are
ExtraTips predictions are statistical estimates of how a football match could unfold. They are produced by data-driven models and describe probabilities, never certainties, guarantees or advice.
Football is unpredictable by nature. Every number on this site describes how likely an outcome looks based on data, not what will happen.
The data behind every prediction
Our models work with detailed match data from a professional sports data provider: recent form, head-to-head history, goal statistics and other performance indicators for both teams and their competition.
This data is refreshed continuously, so every prediction is built on the latest available information rather than an outdated snapshot.
From data to probabilities to analysis
Statistical models process this data and compute outcome probabilities for each match: the 1X2 result (home win, draw, away win), over/under 2.5 goals and both teams to score.
AI analysis then turns those numbers into written match insights, so the reasoning behind the probabilities is easy to follow. The numbers always come first; the text explains them.
What the probabilities mean
Each probability is the model's estimated likelihood of one outcome. For 1X2, the probabilities of a home win, a draw and an away win always add up to about 100%.
A higher probability means the model considers an outcome more likely, nothing more. It does not mean the outcome is guaranteed, and less likely results happen in football every week.
How often everything is updated
Predictions are refreshed daily as upcoming matches are analysed. Live scores and match statistics update continuously while games are in play, so the numbers always reflect the latest state of each match.
